Outi Hovatta
Biography Dr. Hovatta graduated from the University of Helsinki with M.D. in 1970 and Ph.D. 1973. She is a specialist in Obstetrics and Gynecology since 1978. After working as consultant in the Helsinki University Hospital, she established the Infertility Clinic of the Family Federation of Finland, and lead it from 1986-1995. From 1995-1998, Dr. Hovatta was a senior research fellow and visiting professor in the Imperial College, at Hammersmith Hospital in London, UK. Since 1998, she is a Professor in Obstetrics and Gynaecology at Karolinska Institutet in Stockholm, Sweden. Being an invited professor at the Geneva University Hospital for six months in 2008 supported her main research interests of treatment of infertility, fertility preservation before cancer treatment and human embryonic stem cells.
