Preserving Fertility in Cancer Patients and Follicle Ovarian Reserve Professor Jacques Donnez studied medicine and completed his internship in Gynaecology and Obstetrics at the Université Catholique de Louvain (UCL). He started his scientific research activities in the Research Laboratory of Physiology of Human Reproduction under the supervision of Professor Jacques Ferin. Since then, Professor Donnez has devoted his career to identifying and understanding the molecular and pathophysiological mechanisms underlying female infertility and the development of new therapeutic options to restore or preserve women's health and fertility. Professor Donnez completed his PhD in 1984 and became Head of the Department of Gynaecology at the Université Catholique de Louvain in 1986. Professor Donnez founded the Infertility Research Unit of the UCL and has focused his research activities on tubal infertility, endometriosis and, more recently, ovarian cryopreservation and transplantation. |
